Refreshing the entry to the Museum and the Carriage House from the parking lot is the goal of a project starting this fall. The Museum Board of Trustees approved removing the arborvitae between the parking lot and the Carriage House, replacing the split rail fence, and installing arborvitae on the other side of the parking lot to partially obscure the bowling alley. Another exciting and colorful part of the project may be to install a mural on the side of the shop building facing the parking lot. Efforts are ongoing to obtain permission to create a reproduction of a granite industry mural to install. More on that in the future when permission is obtained.
Work has begun this fall and will continue into the spring. We hope to have an appealing new approach to the museum for the Spring Open House.
